2nd Congregational Church

Chancel Choir

This volunteer choir is open to anyone High School age or older who desires to praise God through music!  The Chancel Choir is composed of a group of approximately 35 individuals varying in age and ability level.  They lead worship in song at our 10:30am service every Sunday from early September until early June, and rehearse from 7:30 to 9:00pm on Thursday evenings.

In the past, they have performed at such notable venues as Bristol Cathedral, King’s College Cambridge, and Westminster Cathedral, and have performed works such as John Stainer’s Crucifixion, Johannes Brahm’s A German Requiem, Mozart’s Coronation Mass, and most recently, John Rutter's Requiem. They have also had the opportunity to work with composers Gilbert Martin and Alice Parker.  The main goal of the Chancel Choir is to promote musical excellence in worship and to lead God’s people to a deeper spiritual life with Christ.  If you would like more information on the Chancel Choir of 2nd Congregational, please contact the Director of Music Ministries.  We’re always looking for new and enthusiastic members!
